In what is believed to be an international drugs racket, ANC sleuths claimed that 46-year-old British national David Jhonson, who came down to Goa from the UK, had brought along with him some consignment of narcotics.
According to reports, ANC sleuths arrested Yusuf Mohammad of Chennai at Prezwada-Anjuna on March 21, on charges of supplying drugs. Police seized 75 grams of methamphetamine and 10 LSD cubes weighing 40 grams.
During police interrogations, Muhammad revealed the involvement of a 46-year-old British national. Police then arrested David Jhonson and recovered 17 grams of MDMA and 32 ecstasy tablets weighing 13 grams. The drugs seized from Muhammad and Jhonson were worth Rs 5.86 lakh.
During interrogation, police found that Jhonson was supplying drugs at Arambol beach and there were other persons who were in contact with him.
The police later arrested Ganesh Pondir (33) from Himachal Pradesh at Bamonwada-Arambol in the wee hours on March 22 and seized 1.350 kgs of charas from his possession worth Rs 5.40 lakh. The ANC booked all three accused under the NDPS Act.
During further interrogations, Jhonson disclosed that he had stored the narcotics in his room.
Acting on this information, police raided Jhonson’s house at Anjuna on March 23 and seized 20 grams of MDMA, 40 grams of DMT, 30 grams of LSD liquid, all worth Rs 12 lakh. Following the seizure, police booked Jhonson in a second offence under the NDPS Act.
